What to know before selling imported wine in Vietnam
A licence to distribute, wholesale or retail wine
Distributing, wholesaling or retailing alcohol of 5.5% or more requires a licence, valid for five years, and selling it for consumption on the premises requires a registration. Only a distribution licence allows a business to import, and it requires a distribution network in at least two provinces with at least one alcohol wholesaler in each.

Selling wine online
Under the Law on Prevention and Control of Harmful Effects of Alcohol and Beer, a business that sells wine online must meet the licence and quality conditions, follow e-commerce law, apply the government's measures that keep people under 18 from accessing and buying alcohol, and take payment by non-cash means.

No sale to anyone under 18
Selling or supplying alcohol to anyone under 18 is prohibited. Online, the seller asks visitors for their name and age before they search, takes the buyer's name, address and non-cash payment details at purchase, and checks the recipient's age on delivery whenever in doubt, so that the wine is handed only to someone aged 18 or over.

Stamps and a Vietnamese label before sale
The importer applies one electronic stamp, bought from the Department of Customs, to each bottle during or after import clearance and before the wine is sold, and adds the mandatory information in Vietnamese to the label, including the volume, the ethanol content and storage instructions for wine.

Questions and answers
Which licence do I need to sell imported wine in Vietnam?
A licence for the activity you carry out: a distribution licence, which alone allows you to import, a wholesale licence or a retail licence, each valid for five years, while sale for consumption on the premises needs a registration. The authority that issues each licence depends on the licence and the province, and it confirms the conditions that apply.
Can I sell wine online to buyers in Vietnam?
Yes, if you hold the licence that fits and meet the online conditions: measures that keep people under 18 from buying, an age check on delivery when in doubt, and payment by non-cash means. Order requests from Asiavino reach you as the licensed seller, and you confirm them, take payment and deliver.
Does the Distributor Studio cost anything?
No. The distributor account is free: no subscription, no listing fees and no commission on wine sales.
Who sells the wine to the buyer?
You do. Asiavino does not sell alcohol: it transmits each order request to the licensed distributor, who confirms it, takes payment and delivers.
Can I choose the brands and wines I carry?
Yes. You activate only the wines you distribute, in the markets where your company is licensed, and you can propose wines that are not on Asiavino yet.
Who can join?
Wine importers and distributors. When you join, you confirm that your company holds every licence and registration its markets require, and Asiavino can verify them.
